PSALM 9:7-12
1. Confidently trust in the sovereign Lord
God is in ultimate control of the universe: ‘the Lord reigns’ (v.7). God ‘will judge the world in righteousness (rightness and equity); He will minister justice to the peoples in uprightness’ (v.8, AMP). This knowledge is an enormous comfort. We may never know in this life why God allows some horrendous things to happen.
Trust in the sovereignty of God and keep on believing that he will never forsake you: ‘And they who know Your name will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You’ (v.10, AMP).
In the meantime keep doing three things:
• Praising
‘Sing the praises of the Lord’ (v.11a).
• Proclaiming
‘Proclaim among the nations what he has done’ (v.11b).
• Praying
‘The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble’ (v.9); ‘He does not ignore the cry of the afflicted’ (v.12b).

Vision of Harvest Christian Fellowship
That honours God,
And inspires, impacts and changes people
To minister in the power of the Holy Spirit
WE WILL DO THIS BY BEING:-
Hospitable: We will seek the Lord in all decisions that we make. One of the requirements of a minister as given in 1 Timothy 3:2 is that they be hospitable. The church today needs to show the hospitality of Christ to those less well off, the lonely etc. It is an area that can continually be improved upon, but if the church is going to be hospitable the load must be carried by all in an orderly fashion or the few will very quickly be tired out.
Active in the Community: We will find any possible means to reach out into our community to not only be of practical service, but to reach the community for Christ. We will use “Harvest Rock” Climbing, and the whole centre as an instrument to reach the youth as well as adults within our community.
Relevant: We will be relevant to our community and the people in it. To many, the church is stained glass windows and hymnals. We aim to reverse this mindset. We will be relevant in the way we structure our services, relevant in music, relevant in dress, and, most importantly, relevant in the message we carry.
Visionary: We will not settle for the status quo. It has been said “Those who aim at nothing usually hit it.” Proverbs 29:18 tells us “Where there is no vision, the people perish”, so if we are to succeed at our God given responsibility, we must have a Godly vision.
Evangelistic: We will preach the gospel to all those whom God has called us to. The Primary responsibility of any church is to preach the Gospel, and make disciples of all men. We will put into place a healthy evangelism programme, causing us to not become complacent but to be continually striving for greater evangelistic endeavour.
Spirit Led: We are a Pentecostal church. We believe in the Baptism of the Spirit as a separate experience from the new birth, and encourage the use of the gifts of the Spirit as found in 1 Corinthians 12. We also believe the Holy Spirit has been sent to guide the Church, and we recognise that without the Spirit of God we can not fulfil the vision God has given us.
Triumphant: We will triumph in Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ has the victory. We are here to storm the gates of hell and join with Jesus as he leads captivity captive.
